MAP S..p.A. present on the market for over 100 years, produces materials and finished components aesthetic and functional, for both the coating and acoustic insulation of countless market sectors. In the last decade, thanks to its know how and dedicated structure, entered successfully in the world’s marine products and solutions, eco-friendly, recyclable and qualified under the regulations.

Innovative products as Mapflex®, viscose-elastic polymer-based plastics and mineral fillers. Excellent sound insulation, fire resistant and low smoke emission have granted the M.E.D. certification describing the product as the only real altenative to Lead and masses in PVC. Flexible and versatile, can be applied to multiple structures ( metallic, fiberglass, alveolus materials and composite) and firebreak materials to increase efficiently the acoustic performance.

Placed between two steel or aluminium layers, it has generated a wide range of multilayer insulation materials ( nominated Fonomap® 139) self-standing, extremely thin, and suitable for dividing walls, floors and ventilation conducts.
The new line of sound-absorbing insulating materials, Mapfire® LT, made of polyester fibers combined with a special thermo-bonded felt which enhances the acoustic properties at low-medium frequencies, a refreshing alternative to traditional mineral fibres, thanks to their non-decaying properties and durability. Further coated with technical fabrics also excels in the characteristics of thermal insulation. Excellent properties of reaction to fire and low smoke emission (approved M.E.D.) qualify the product for uses increasingly important in the marine industry and shipbuilding.

To solve the problems of the noise transmission throughout structures, MAP has developed two types of damping, one liquid and one-layer constraints, which combine technology and functionality. Terophon® is a sound damping spray, or spatula applicable synthetic resin aqueous dispersion, with no hazardous substances, intended for controlling structural noise, structural vibration and swash, thermal insulation. It is applied by sprying, and adheres well to metal surfaces, even curved or uneven.

Latest in order of time is Legetolex D 300 E, tecnical insulation laminated sheet thickness and very low weight, ultra high performance noise abatement, vibration damping and emissivity.
The adhesive, additional element of the product, also guarantees a solid grip even in non optimal conditions and on any vibrating, flat or uneven surface. Approved by M.E.D., it represents the alternative to the traditional abatement bi-component products, guaranteeing safe yield and clearly reduced application time.

The range of products is completed by a series of fabrics, technical fibres and thermal insulating fibre glass type such as HT and Silica, are ecologically safe and recyclable, studied to control the middle-high temperatures.
Our experience in both, the applied acoustics and thermal fields are at your disposal. Our stock of measuring instruments, consisting of phonometers, dosimeters, vibration and thermal meters, a semi-anechoic chamber with a reverberating room annexed, two Kundt pipes and a vibrating plate, allow to test and certify the performances either of the single materials as well as of those directly installed on structures or on technical combined materials generally used in the sector.
