MAP S.p.A. present on the market for over 100 years, realizes aesthetically and functionally finished materials and components for coating and for thermo-acoustic insulation of countless market sectors. In the last decade, thanks to its know how and to a specifically built structure, MAP has submitted itself with success to the yachting world proposing products and innovative solutions, eco-friendly, recyclable and qualified under the regulations.
Innovative products as the Mapflex®, acoustic insulating material, viscose-elastic plastic polymer based and mineral fillers. Excellent soundproofing properties, reaction to fire (in case of fire it chars without transition to the liquid state) and low smoke release have granted the M.E.D. certification qualifying the product as the only true alternative to Lead and PVC structures. Flexible and versatile, it can be applied to manifold structures (metallic, fibreglass, alveolar and composite) and firebreak materials to increase effectively the acoustic performances.
A series of multilayer insulating materials Class 1A (denominated Fonomap® 175, Fonomap® 192 Fonomap® 203), self-supporting, composed of two or more elements combined to guarantee soundproofing and abatement features, also suitable for treating dividing walls, floors and ventilation conducts for all kind of boats under 24mt or 500 tons.
As natural evolution of the product Soundfil® a new line of soundproofing and thermoisolating products called Mapfire® LT, has been created; polyester fibers based, thermal bonded to a special felt which enhances the acoustic features of the middle-low frequencies, representig a good alternative to the classic poliuretanic and mineral fibres, thanks to its non-decaying characteristics and duration in time. Further coated with technical fabrics, also excel in the characteristics of thermal isolation. Its excellent reaction to fire and low smoke emission (M.E.D. confirmed) qualifies the product for uses increasingly more important in the marine industry and shipbuilding.
To solve the problems of noise transmission throughout structures, Map has developed two types of noise deadening, one liquid and a layer constraints, which combine technology and functionality. Terophon® is a sound deadening mixture, sprayable or spreadable, made of synthetic resins in watery dispersion, without dangerous substances, destined to control the noise of the structural vibrations and swash, as well as the thermal isolation. It is spray applicable, and it also sticks perfectly to metallic curves or unlevelled surfaces. The latest is the Legetolex® D 300 E. A technical insulator, laminated in sheets of very contained thickness and weight, with high vibrations damping performance and the abatement of the acoustic emissions. The adhesive, a further qualifying part of the product, also guarantees a solid grip under non optimal conditions or on any vibrating surface, even if unlevelled or discontinued. Confirmed by M.E.D., it represents the alternative to the classical abatement bi-component products, guaranteeing safe yield and clearly reduced application times.
Our experience in the applied acoustic and thermal fields are at your disposal. Our measuring instrument stock supplied with phonometers, dosimeters, vibration thermal meters, a semi-anechoic chamber with a reverberating room annexed, two Kundt pipes and a vibrating plate, allow to test and certify the performances of the single materials as of the ones directly installed on structures or on technical combined materials which are generally used in the sector.
